Book DavidBiography
A career spent leading when it counted
David A. Ogden has spent nearly four decades serving and leading in public safety. His experience includes service as a Police Chief, SWAT Team Leader, High-Risk Incident Commander, Intelligence Director, trainer, and executive leader. Across those roles, leadership has never been an abstract idea. It has meant earning trust, making decisions under pressure, guiding people through difficult moments, building healthy teams, and accepting responsibility when the stakes are real.
Dave's work is grounded in integrity, courage, excellence, and selfless service. He believes leadership is built through influence and strengthened through relationships, honest communication, emotional intelligence, and a healthy organizational culture.
His perspective is also deeply personal. Professional experience and personal adversity have shaped his commitment to helping people prepare for the battles they do not see coming. Through keynote speaking, leadership development, team development, first-responder resilience training, and his books, Dave gives people practical principles they can carry into their work, homes, relationships, and communities.
As a Certified Working Genius Facilitator, Dave also helps teams understand their natural strengths and frustrations, see gaps more clearly, improve collaboration, and create the conditions for people to do their best work.
